THE COMPANY

Ref-Chem Company was founded in 1957 in Odessa, Texas to meet a growing need for contract maintenance in the emerging petrochemical complex that was being built in Odessa. After the complex was complete and maintenance services were in place and operating, construction services were added to Ref-Chem's capabilities. The company quickly developed a reputation for professionalism, quality workmanship, and delivering customer satisfaction not only in Odessa but also in other parts of West Texas and the Permian Basin including New Mexico. This reputation allowed expansion to projects in Oklahoma and Kansas.

In 1969, Ref-Chem Company assets were sold and Ref-Chem Corporation was formed under new ownership. The company continued to provide maintenance and construction services to the industry.

In 1983, majority interest in Ref-Chem Corporation was acquired by a group led by current majority owner, Harvey J. Page. The company continued to expand its ability to provide construction and maintenance services throughout the United States from California to Florida, Texas to North Dakota.

In 1985 the company began providing engineering services to the industry as well as offering full Engineering, Procurement and Construction services.

In 1986, the company expanded into the Houston area to provide construction and maintenance services through the acquisition of Don Love, Inc. located in Pasadena, Texas in a merger. Ref-Chem has become a major participant in the industrial construction and maintenance markets in Houston.

In 1998, Ref-Chem acquired the assets of SMC McEver, Inc. to form a basis for providing engineering services in Houston. This engineering business has continued to expand for projects in Houston and around the United States operating under the Ref-Chem name.

In 1999, Ref-Chem opened a division in Brownfield, Texas to address the Field Services needs in the Permian Basin oil fields. This office provides roustabout services and maintenance services to several oil and gas fields and to several plants in West Texas and New Mexico.

In 2002, Ref-Chem affected a name and corporate structure change from Ref-Chem Corporation to Ref-Chem, L. P.  

The corporate structure and ownership has changed through the years, the name has gone through changes, but the ideas and principles under which the company was founded have continued as the company strives to provide professionalism, quality workmanship, and delivering customer satisfaction.

The company operates throughout the continental United States, has construction licenses in most states, engineers licensed in most states, and operates in a Merit Shop environment. Ref-Chem provides Engineering, Construction, EPC, and Maintenance Services to the mid sized industrial construction market. Ref-Chem works in industrial gases, chemicals, petrochemicals, oil and gas, refining, power, cement, and metals.
